Standard vs Professional License
Short answer: The scenery is the same; the difference is how you can use it. A Standard License plays in StagePlayer on one device and is plug and play. A Professional License also lets you export the scenery into QLab (for projection mapping, blending several projectors, or running lights, sound and video from one computer) and install on up to two devices.
| Standard License | Professional License | |
|---|---|---|
| Plays in StagePlayer | Yes | Yes |
| Export to QLab 5 | No | Yes (to a new, blank workspace) |
| Devices | 1 | Up to 2 |
| Typical setup | One computer, one projector, one surface | Several surfaces, LED walls, blended projectors, mapping |
| Editing | Order, timing, disabling cues, cue sheet text, transitions, filters | Everything in Standard, plus anything you do in QLab |
| Refunds | Per Broadway Media's cancellation policy | None once delivered |
Choose Standard if
You want plug-and-play playback with control over cue timing, order and which cues to skip.
Choose Professional if
- You must run lights, sound and scenery from one computer or server
- You need projection mapping or to blend multiple projectors
- Your staging is unconventional and you need to rework the assets
Licenses are sold by Broadway Media. Pro export steps: Export your show to QLab.
Also consider Stage Studio
Stage Studio offers warping, edge blending and multi-output mapping without QLab.
