Why you need two displays

Short answer: StagePlayer and Stage Studio open two windows: a controls window for the operator and an output window for the audience. The controls stay on the computer's own screen; the output goes full screen on the projector or LED wall. With only one display, the audience would see your controls.

How it should look

Display Shows Who sees it
Computer screen (laptop screen or desktop monitor) Controls window: cue sheet, Next/GO, Blackout, previews Operator only
Projector or LED wall Output window, full screen Audience

Getting there

  1. Connect the projector and turn it on.
  2. Set the computer to extend the display (not mirror). See Extend your display to a projector.
  3. Drag the output window onto the projector.
  4. Click Fullscreen (StagePlayer) once the output window is on the projector.

If both screens show the same thing, your computer is mirroring. See Extend your display to a projector.
